Goals and Happiness

I really hope that you're loving life and realizing that it's a short one. Put your happiness first and stop focusing on the negative or comparing yourself to others. STOP. It's not worth it. Just do you. Do what makes YOU feel happy and good.
So today I’m hoping to be an inspiration to you. I've had a little bit of a roller coaster of a week but I'm realizing that it's completely normal.
Listen up: It’s the middle of the month. You’ve made some goals. You’ve made some plans. And maybe you’ve made some great progress on them – woohoo! And maybe you haven’t - also woohoo!
Woohoo, because you haven’t given up yet. Woohoo, because you’re still trying to grow and learn. And woohoo just because a woohoo every now and again doesn’t hurt anyone.
I’m always having to remind myself that growth takes time. It’s hard to see our progress on a day to day basis. Progress is a process; it’s not over in a second or a minute or even a day. Progress is a process; it’s not over in a second or a minute or even a day. But it’s also hard to remind yourself to look at the big picture and to look at how far you’ve come.
So I’m not going to do that.
Close your eyes and think about whatever it is that you’re working towards. That project. Your hustle. Changing your eating habits. Finding the energy to clean the house. Close your eyes and think about the end results. Not the process of doing it. And not after it’s all said and done and you’re laying in bed the night after. Think about what happens the very second that you finish.
There’s probably two things that happen:
1) you feel an amazing sense of relief and accomplishment, even if it’s for a fleeting second.
2) life goes on. Whatever it is that’s weighing on you right now will happen or it won’t happen. You’re slay the presentation, or you won’t. You’ll finally launch your blog, or you’ll decide not to. You’ll get the cleaning done today, or you’ll put it off again. Life will still continue. So you have a choice: let life keep flowing along or make the leap or jump or hop now. Propel life forward in the direction of your choosing. Do whatever it is that is scaring you or holding you back.
Or just do the dishes….I’m not here to judge your hangups. I’m here to tell you to hang up on them, to stop living a life of “I can’t”s or “maybe later”s. Give yourself some space to grow. Make kindness your water and adventures your plant food. And then actually allow yourself grow.

So yup; it’s the middle of the month. And you can either take this 15 or so days left and ride them out. Or you can turn the tide and kick some ass.
I hope you choose the second option.
